Two new members were inducted. Rotarian Peggy Donnelly sponsored Linda Eagan and Rotarian Donna Kestner sponsored Chad Whelsky.
Ellen Nowyj, Rotary Youth Leadership Award representative, introduced Jessica Vaccaro, a G.Ray Bodley high school senior who was chosen to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership program. Vaccaro presented a slide show showing students from the area engaged in activities which will prepare them for leadership roles.
Ms. Nancy Fox from CNY Arts Center spoke about Saturday, January 18th, the third annual ‘Snow Day’ for the CNY Arts Center, and Sunrise Rotary has been there to help since the beginning. Hope to have snow so snowmen can be created for competition. There are many other games, activities and food! Volunteers welcome.

We welcomed Jeanne Cieszeski as a new member to our club.
Fabiane Fernandes da Silva presented a video of her trip to New York City just before Thanksgiving. It documented her trip starting with the bus trip to the city and of all the sites they visited with group pictures of the students holding their countries’ flags. The video was very well done with music. She is a delightful young lady with lots of talent!

Rotary Meeting 12-20-13-1
Dale Copper-Currier, Director of Emergency Management for Oswego County, gave a very worthwhile and interesting program on household and family preparedness. Ninety percent of households are not prepared! Dale gave out a valuable book to each person, Emergency Information Handbook. Thank you, Dale, for the information.

Rotary Newsletter 11-15-13
Dan presented a very moving talk and shared a short DVD on the life of Sir Nicholas Winton. He was a British man who saved Czech and Slovak children from the Holocaust. At the age of 104, Winton was recently honored for his bravery in saving 5,700 children. Sir Nicholas is a member and former president of the Maidenhead Rotary Club. Thank you, Dan, for a great program.
